FLYR Training Balls
Disrupting the Market with High Quality Training Balls that Outperform

Through Hero Labs, we wanted to design a high-density foam baseball that held less weight and had increased malleability to reduce impact and strain on players who are training during the off-seasion, all while maintain a true flight path to mimic that of a real baseball. We designed FLYR with a durable impressioned seam design, using materials that provide long-lasting performance from the high-density foam material. FLYR's goal is to break into D2C, then Wholesale and grow to become a trusted product for hitting reps, catcher blocking drills, and full-speed machine ball training during the off-season.
Services
Product Prototyping & Development
We researched and engineered material foam density and weight for game-realistic flight. From there, using inspiration of a traditional baseball, we designed an impressioned seam pattern to keep spin visibility while preventing seam color wear from hitting the ball. Based on thousands of hits from players and faciltiies, FLYR has proven to outlast other balls on the market, and maintain it's shape and form through extended hitting and catching reps.
Product Sourcing
Through extensive research, we leveraged our overseas partners to identify and secure a manufacturer that's capable of consistent high-density foam ball production. Our partners, and the Hero Co. team oversaw material compliance, created dozens of pilot runs and samples, while also maintaining quality control for durability across indoor and outdoor training.
Product Brand Design
We developed packaging that communicated durability and versatility for both players and coaches, but also wanted to challenge the status quo on what retail baseballs actually look like. From there, our team built an Amazon storefront and along with a retail pack architecture, while also using our resources to produce photo and video assets through Hero partners, while also leveraging the latest technology in AI Image gen for consumer and wholesale audiences. Throughout the first quarter, Hero Co. successfully sold out of all initial inventory, and has had to double order for the next run.
